Finally, an internet cafe

I have only seen one internet place, and we have been running around like crazy, so I haven't had time to add. sorry that this might be a really long post. I only have 30 minutes though

The most amazing news of all is that our family has survived. This was one peak point of blow when the two cars got separated in Killarney, but we had our crash, and came out laughing. We leave the day after tomorrow. The 1 year old has been amazing. This country is beautiful, but the people are crap with directions. Once we asked for directions in Dingle, and the guy told us to go through one roundabout and take the first left, then take the first left on the 2nd roundabout. However, he neglected to mention that there was a left turn in between those two, and it was just sheer dumb luck that we decided to take a left. Also, many places there are signs to places if you are going in one direction, but not if you are going in the other.

It is 9pm here in Eire, and as light as can be. I am sitting in an internet cafe in Doolin (where I can look out and see the Cliffs of Moher----which we visited yesterday). It was so beautiful today. We drove up to Connemara today to get mom a piece of jewelry, and to take pictures of the ponies...we succeeded. We found a riding stable with an old man that wanted to show off his stallion. We also just meet a few guys (and one woman) from the Irish Coast Guard. They talked about how there are alot of people that come to jump off the Cliffs of Moher to kill themselves, and they have to pick the bodies up.

The places we visited----(sorry about the spelling of some places, don't have my maps with me, and it never sounds like it is spelled anyway)

Glengariff
Garnish Island---they brought in soil to change a barren rock island into a lush garden.
Healy Pass--a road they created during the famine to get food across. This was all on the Beara (sic) Peninsula. Alot of sheep, cute little store run by a generator at the top.

Killarney
we won't talk about this place

Dingle (really we stayed in Smerwick Harbour area, on the other side of the peninsula)
here we went horseback riding, cantered across the top of a mountain.
I am sure we did other things, just can't remember

Doolin---little folk music town
Walking around The Cliffs of Moher
Driving around The Burren--saw the Gleninsheen Wedge Tomb
Saw Dunguaire castle
Mom was excited to find out we were near a town that has a matchmaking festival (apparently a big one), the town is called Lisdoonvarna, only to be disappointed to learn it is not till September....see did try to hook me up with a Garda in Dingle (policeman)....he was married (one would think she would learn she is not very good at this)

Drove around Galway

I think I am almost out of time. Tomorrow we head to Bunratty and then leave Shannon the next day. I think we might stop and look around Ennis.

I have taken an obscene amount of pictures, so be prepared. Mom got a really nice camera I took control of.

Cheers

Kelly

Sounds like you had a wee little
fender bender or a loss in directions having been separated. Glad that turned out ok!!!!!!
Amazing the one year old would be so good. She must be a happy child. One of our ancestors was born in County Killarney!
HAVE a SAFE TRIP home. Can't wait to see all your pictures.......
